How long is the pepper spray training course?

The pepper spray training course is approximately 4 hours long. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate of training documenting the course completion.

Valley Guard Training provides pepper spray training for a cost of $50.

What days and times does Valley guard training provide pepper spray training? +

You can start the pepper spray training anytime during our regular business hours.

Hours of Operation:

Monday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Sunday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Closed: Tuesday and Wednesday.

I am not a security guard, can I still take your pepper spray training course? +

Yes. While the pepper spray training course we offer is designed primarily for security officers, civilians are also welcome to take the course.

California law does not require civilians to complete training or obtain a permit to carry pepper spray for personal protection. However, it is a good idea to receive training so you understand how to safely and legally use the defensive tool.

Our pepper spray training course is open to anyone who is at least 18 years old and may be taken during our regular business hours.

When will I receive my BSIS approved permit for pepper spray? +

Pepper spray permits are not issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).

Valley Guard Training provides a certificate of training that serves as proof that you completed the course. The certificate shows the date of training and the instructor who provided the training.

You will receive your permit (certificate of completion) at the end of the class.
